A TEENAGER appeared in Newcastle Local Court yesterday charged with obtaining $19,000 by deception.

Benjamin Christopher Koosmen, 19, of Queen Street, Holmesville, did not enter a plea.

It is alleged that between October 23 and October 28 last year at Broadmeadow, Koosmen dishonestly obtained $19,000 by opening a false bank account and withdrawing funds.

His case was adjourned to February 3.
